He served Aug.39-1940 with transport units of the Infanterie-Divisions-Nachschubführer 35, 35.Infanterie-Division active in the campaign in Belgium and France and occupation force Belgian coast; 1941-1942 as paymaster with POW construction and working unit Kriegsgefangenen-Bau-und-Arbeits-Bataillon 35, with french POW’s active in the area Aachen-Bildchen; 1943 with Feldstrafgefangenen-Abteilung 6, a field prisoners unit formed 1942 at the military prison in Freiburg and active at the Eastern Front; 1944-1945 officer schooling at Grenadier-E.u.A-Bataillon 195 in Konstanz, ROB-Kompanie 195 in Konstanz, Schule X für Fahnenjunker der Infanterie in Neuenburg-Elbe. Promotoed to Leunant on 1.4.45 and attached to the officers pool (Führerreserve) of Waffenschule 4.Panzer-Armee. Two privately bought Mauser 7.65mm pistols entered, last one bought 7.4.45.
