He served: Aug.-Nov.39 with Infanterie-Geschütz-Ersatz-Kompanie 7 in München; Nov.39-Feb.43 with the staff and Infantry Gun platoon of Infanterie-Regiment 315 of the 167.Infanterie-Division: 1940 active in France (Maginot Line and occupation force), 1941-1942 in Middle Russia (Warsaw/Pinsk, Bobruisk, Jelnja, Brjansk, Tula, Orel), May 42-Jan.43 based in Haarlem as occupation force Holland, 1943 in Southern Russia (Charkow). He was KIA on 25.2.43 in Oposchnja Ukraine/Russia. Probably still buried in his field grave since he was not moved to a war cemetery after 1945.
