Son of an architect, born 1914 in Brackel living in Dortmund. SA and NSDAP member since 1931. 1934 Gruppenführer at the SA sports school in Hamm. Since 1935 leader of SA Strum 1/98 „Heinz Habe nicht“ in Dortmund. Profession entered in the Wehrpass as sports leader of the HJ and HJ Bannführer. He served: Dec.33-Feb.34 for military training at military compounds Sennelager; Apr.-Oct.35 with Infanterie-Regiment Münster; Nov.39-Feb.40 with Infanterie-Regiment 306 of the 211.Infanterie-Division based in the Eifel area; Feb.-Aug.40 with Infanterie-Regiment 633 of the 557.Infanterie-Division active securing the border near Kehl at the upper rhine area and Belfort area Elsass; Aug.-Oct.40 with Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 414 in Komotau (Chomutov Czechia); Oct.40-Jan,41 with Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 52 and Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 513 in Leitmeritz (Litoměřice Czechia); Feb.-Dec.41 with Infanterie-Regiment 575 of the 304.Infanterie-Division securing the Belgian coast; officer schooling Dec.41-Jun.42 with Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 513 in Leitmeritz and the Infanterie school in Döberitz; Jul.42-Nov.43 as officer and company leader with Infanterie-Regiment 102 (renamed Grenadier-Regiment 102) of the 24.Infanterie-Division active 1942 in Southern Russia (Krim, Sewastopol) and 1942-1943 in Northern Russia (Leningrad, Wolkhow, Lake Ladoga). He got three times wounded south of Ladogasee: 24.9.42 shot wound nose, 26.9.42 shrapnell wound left middle finger, 8.10.42 shot wound head. He was finally KIA on 15.11.43 during an assault on Mischowo northwest of Newel. He was 9.5.44 posthumously promoted to Hauptmann since 1.11.43. Nowadays probably still in his field grave since he was not moved to a war cemetery after WW2.

Horst Krüger was not recovered during our re-interment activities. The planned transfer to the collective cemetery in Sebesh was, therefore, unfortunately not possible. His name will be recorded in the cemetery's memorial book.
