Student, son of a notary, born 1917 in Diedenhofen. RAD service Apr.-Oct.37. He volunteered the army in 1937 and served: Nov.37-Oct.38 with Infanterie-Regiment 9 in Potsdam; Nov.38-Sep.39 medical schooling at the Sanitätsschule Hindenburg-Lazarett in Berlin-Zehlendorf; Apr.40 with Sanitäts-Ersatz-Abteilung 12 in Litzmannstadt; May-Jul.40 with Sanitäts-Kompanie 246 of the 246.Infanterie-Division based in the Saarpfalz area; Jul.-Aug.40 with Sanitäts-Ersatz-Abteilung 12 in Litzmannstadt; Aug.40-Apr.41 with Heeres-Sanitäts-Staffel Posen; Apr.41 with Sanitäts-Ersatz-Abteilung 1; Apr.41-Jul.42 as medical student with Heeres-Sanitäts-Staffel Prag; Jul.42 with Sanitäts-Ersatz-Abteilung 4; Jul.-Oct.42 with motorized field hospital Feld-Lazarett (mot) 6/582 active at the Eastern Front; Nov.42 with Sanitäts-Ersatz-Abteilung 4; Nov.42-Jan.44 again as medical student with Heeres-Sanitäts-Staffel Prag; Feb.44 with Sanitäts-Ersatz-Abteilung 12 in Bad Kreuznach; Feb.-Apr.44 with Sanitäts-Abteilung Mainz (under Heeres-Satnitäts-Staffel Wiesbaden); Apr.-Jul.44 with Sanitäts-Abteilung Koblenz (under Heeres-Satnitäts-Staffel Wiesbaden); Jul.44 with Sanitäts-E.u.A.-Abteilung 12 in Bad Kreuznach; Jul.-Aug.44 with Grenadier-Regiment 1087 of the Jul.44 new formed 545.Grenadier-Division active in Poland (Krosno). Probably still buried in his field grave since he was not reburied at a war cemetery after 1945.

Dr. Paul Hoeppe was not recovered during our re-interment activities. The planned transfer to the collective cemetery in Przemysl was, therefore, unfortunately not possible. His name will be recorded in the cemetery's memorial book.
