Entitled to: Sudeten Medal (24.2.40), Iron Cross 2nd Class (2.7.40), General Assault Badge in Silver (11.3.42), Iron Cross 1st Class (30.1.43), Drivers Proficiency Badge in Bronze (14.8.43), Wound Badge in Black (20.4.45) and an „Abzeichen für Bestleistung“ (HJ?).

Born 1915. He served: Nov.37-Oct.44 with Beobachtungs-Abteilung 20, home based in Hamburg, 1939-1940 active under the 20.Infanterie-Division in Poland, Holland, Belgium and France, 1941-1944 active directly under the 4.Armee in Middle Russia (Juchnow, Spass-Demensk, Moscow, Donez, Saporosje, Nikolajew, Bug). During this period he got wounded (shoulder and ribs injury) on 6.11.41 in an accident and was one month hospitalized in Germany. Because his former unit was dissolved he served from Oct.44 onwards with Beobachtungsbatterie (Pz) 21, an armoured spotting battery. He got wounded again on 18.4.45 by shrapnel in his hip and left shoulder.
