Engine mechanic born 1901 in Geisweid-Giesen. He served till at least 1942 in his hometown Siegen (under Luftgau-Kommando XII//XIII Wiesbaden) with the Sicherheits- und Hilfsdienst (SHD) as a SHD-Mann, part of the Luftschutz. The SHD service gave extra professional support (technical, medical etc.) to the regular Luftschutz units.
