He served: 1943-1944 with Grenadier-Regiment 145 of the 65.Infanterie-Division active in Italy (1943 Ferrara, La Spezia, Adria, Sangro – 1944 Genua, Nettuno, Liguria, Livorno, Pisa Bologna); 1945 with Grenadier-Regiment 1125 of the 559.Volks-Grenadier-Division active in Lothringen, Saarpfalz and Saarbrücken. He got wounded for the first time on 11.10.43 (Italy) but was most probably not hospitalized.
