Born 1900 in Stralsund. Civil occupation as an engineer. WW1 service as a pioneer Jun.-Dec.1918 with Eisenbahn-Pionier-Bataillon 1 Berlin-Schöneberg. Called-up again in 1944 and served May 44-Feb.45 with the technical company of Flugzeugführerschule B 17 in Pütnitz. The pilot school was disbanded and he served Feb.-Mar.45 with replacements unit Flieger-Ersatz-Bataillon VII based in Nagold.
