Designer and railway employee born 1904 in Vienna Austria. Trained as field coock, artillery gun commander, with Panzerfaust and Panzerschreck. He served: 1922-1928 with Artillerie-Regiment 1 in Austria; May 40-Aug.41 with Landesschützen-Ersatz-Kompanie 3/17 in his hometown Wien Austria; Aug.41-Jan.42 with Schwere-Ersatz-Batterie(mot)262 in Stockerow-Tunow Pommern; Feb.42-Oct.43 with Artillerie-Regiment 241 of the 161.Infanterie-Division active in Middle Russia (Rshew, Subzow), Oct.42-Mar.43 based at the Chanel Coast in France, Apr.-Oct.43 active under 355.Infanterie-Division in Southern Russia (Poltawa, Charkow, Werchnednjeprowsk); wounded (shot in his right hand) on 23.10.43; repatriated and for recovery till Jan.44 with leichte Artillerie-Ersatz-Abteilung 21 and Jan.-Jul.44 with Artillerie-Ausbildungs-Abteilung 21, both in Scharfenwiese (Ostrolenka) Eastern Prussia; from Jul.44 onwards with the new formed Artillerie-Regiment Ostpreussen 2 of the Grenadier-Division Ostpreußen 2, allmost directly renamed Artillerie-Regiment 1562 of the 562.Volks-Grenadier-Division active along the river Narew and April 1945 completely destroyed in the Heiligenbeil pocket during the last defences of Eastern Prussia. He got wounded 25.3.45 by shrapnell in his left upper arm and was till 25.7.45 in hospital in Aschersleben.
