Photos of the Kriegsmarine destroyer Z33 in Norway
4 photos of the Kriegsmarine destroyer Z33 (most probably all taken in the waters of Norway). Two photos with planes 12x9cm, a very large one of the ship 18x13cm, very nice photo of the command tower of the Z33 12x9cm.
The Z33 was a Narvik-class destroyer commissioned Feb.43 and serving in Norwegian waters from Jul.43 onwards. In Sep.43 the Z33 took part in the raid on Spitsbergen (operation Zitronella) where she was damaged by a coastal battery. On 25 December 1943 the Z33 escorted the “Scharnhorst” prior to her destruction in the Battle of the North Cape but did not take part in the battle itself. She remained in Norwegian waters during 1944 and early 1945.
