Born 1916. He served Apr.34-Oct.37 with the RAD unit 2/186/19 and was discharged on 31.10.37 in the rank of Truppführer. After his RAD service he served Nov.37-Dec.41 with Infanterie-Regiment 82.(home based in Göttingen) of the 31.Infanterie-Division. Sep.39 active in Poland (battle for Warsaw), May 40 active in Holland (Maastricht, Roermond), Belgium (Albert Channel, Hasselt, Gette, Dyle, Senette, Dendre, Flandern, Schelde) and France (Lille, Somme, Loire, Normandy). Till Sep.40 occupations force France (Channel Coast). He got wounded (shrapnel right arm) for the first time on 26.5.40 in Flandern. 1941 he was active in middle Russia (Bialystok, Minsk, Smolensk, Wjasma, Brjansk) where he was severely injured on 4.10.41. He died due to his wounds on 28.12.41 in the Army Hospital in Warsaw (Poland). He was posthumous promoted to Oberleutnant of the Army and Unterfeldmeister of the RAD. According information of the German War Casualties organisation he is nowadays still buried in Poland (war cemetery Joachimow-Mogily).
