Iron Cross 2nd Class, 28.10.41. Signed by the CO of the 129.Infanterie-Division, Generalmajor Stephan Rittau (Kn.Cr. 2.11.41). Comes together with a copy of his General Assault Badge 1943 (posthumously awarded).

1941-42 he served with reconnaissance units Aufklärungs-Abteilung 129 and Radfahr-Abteilung 129 of the 129.Infanterie-Division, then operating in Russia (Smolensk, Wjasma, Kalinin, Rshew). He was KIA on 13.12.42 in Sherebzowo.
