Called-up in 1915 and served: Nov.1915 with the replacements unit of Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment 78; Nov.1915-May.1916 military training at Rekruten-Depot 76 in Schwerin and Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment 76; May 1916-Jan.1917 active at the Eastern Front (battles at Jakobdorf (Gyákos) Hungary) with Landsturm-Infanterie-Regiment 9; Feb.1917-1918 serving with Infantry replacements units in Lübeck and finally discharged on 20.11.1918.
