He served: Dec.43-Feb.44 with 2.Schiffs-Stamm-Abteilung in Norden; Feb.44 with 2.Marine-Ersatz-Abteilung in Wilhelmshaven; Mar.-May 44 with heavy anti aircraft unit schwere Flakstelle 4 based in Biarritz at the Atlantic wall in France; May-Sep.44 with 6.Marine-Ersatz-Abteilung in Westerland on the island Sylt; Oct.44 transferred to the army and served from Oct.44 with the anti aircraft unit of the Oct.44 formed Panzerjäger-Abteilung 708 of the 708.Volks-Grenadier-Division active at the western front (Vogesen, Colmar pocket, Elsass). An entry indicates that this unit was renamed to Panzerjäger-Abteilung 106 but that unit transfer needs some research since the 106.ID did not exist anymore at that time untill it was formed again in 1945. Last entry March 1945 from his CO that he was instructed what to do when his unit got scattered „Belehrt über das Verhalten als Versprengter“, unit undefined. Walther P38 pistol issued Oct.44.
