Service in WW1: Nov.1915 called up at the replacements unit of Garde-Grenadier-Regiment 4 “Koningin Augusta”; Jun.1916-Aug.1918 with two MG units of Garde-Grenadier-Regiment 4 “Koningin Augusta” active in France (Somme, Reims, Marne, Aisne, Champagne, etc.; got ill Aug.1918 (bladder problems) and was hospitalized and for recovery with his replacements unit till the end of the war.
