2) WW1 military pass (Militärpass), 10.4.1919.
3) German Police assignment, 19.1.1920. For his assignment as Hilfs-Wachtmeister.
4) Hindenburg Cross for WW1 combatants, 25.4.35.
5) Wehrmacht service report and Wehrmacht discharge document, 11.10.40. Both signed by the CO of 1./Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 60, Hauptmann.
6) Small “POW?” document. It states: The above named person has been temporarily screened by Dolphin White Hg. He has not been screened by I.P.W.Team (=prisoner of war interrogation team).

Entitled to: Iron Cross 2nd Class (30.10.1918) and Wound Badge (2.9.1918).

Born 1898 in Usdau Allenstein living in Bochum as a brick layer. He was May 1917 called-up for front service in WW1 and immediately transferred to France where he served with Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment 202. After the battle at the Argonnes he was hit by shrapnel (shoulder) 1km south of Filain during the battle at Chemin des Dames on 27.7.1917 and was in field hospital till Nov.1917. Jan.1918 he was transferred to (Prussian) Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment 240 also active in France (Champagne). He was hit by shrapnel (right side of his body and right hand) again on 5.5.1918 and was hospitalized in Gent (Belgium) and Ingoldstadt (Germany) till Jul.1918. Sep.1918 he was back at the front again and served till the capitulation with Infanterie-Regiment 400 (105.Infanterie-Division) during the battles at the Marne, Siegfried line and Antwerp. In 1920 he got an assignment with the Bavarian Police (Sicherheitspolizei) and was a Hilfs-Wachtmeister. In WW2 he was called-up again and served Aug.39-Oct.40 as a Gefreiter with the Wehrmacht. He was finally discharged on 11.10.40 at Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 60 based in Arnsberg.
