He served for basic training Oct.44 with Artillerie-Ers.-Abt.7 based in Freising and Flieger-Ers.-Batl.XII based in Landau –Isar. On 22.11.44 he was transferred to Jagdgeschwader 101, also based in Landau, where he served as an airplane mechanic till 19.2.45. According his conduct report Feb.45 he had not the skills for an airplane mechanic and did not pass for the technical exams. Therefore he was on 20.2.45 transferred to his replacements unit Flieger-Ers.Batl.III in Chemnitz-Ebersdorf.
