Hans-Werner Ehlers, Luftwaffe Flak Soldier
1) Wehrpass, 6.11.39.
2) Wehrmacht tag stating he is needed as mechanical engineer at the mining industries but could be called-up in the future
Born 1912 in Wilhelmshaven. Mechanical engineer, son of Regierungsrat Hermann Ehlers. He worked as a mechanical specialist for mining machines with „Gelsenkirchener Bergwerg AG Gruppe Hamborn“ in Hamborn near Duisburg and that was probably the reason he was not called-up before 1943. He served: Oct.43-Feb.44 with leichte Flak-Abteilung 883 based/active in Duisburg, the same area where he worked, defending the Ruhr area against allied bombardments.
