He served: Nov.38-Feb.41 with Infanterie-Regiment 63 of the 27.Infanterie-Division, home based in Ingolstadt, 1940 active in France (Somme, Loire); Feb.41-Feb.42 with 17.Schützen-Brigade of the 17.Panzer-Division active in Middle Russia (Smolensk, Kiew, Brjansk, Tula, Orel); Feb.-Jul.42 with Schützen-Regiment 63 (Panzergrenadier-Regiment 63) of the 17.Panzer-Division active in Middle Russia (Orel). He was KIA on 7.7.42 in Pogost Russia.
