Born 1902 in Mandelsloh. He served: Nov.24-Oct.35 with the German national police based in Bremen where he was a teacher/trainer at the police school; Oct.35-Nov.36 with Infanterie-Regiment 65 in Delmenhorst; discharged 1936 and called-up again 1940 as Army Oberleutnant; Jun.-Sep.40 with Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 16 in Oldenburg; Sep.40-Aug.41 with Infanterie-Regiment 469 of the 269.Infanterie-Division, till Jan.41 based in Denmark, from Jun.41 onwards active in Northern Russia (Kurland, Pleaskau, Leningrad). He got wounded by shrapnell in his back on 30.7.41 in Gustoschka and died a few days later on 3.8.41 at the field hospital of the division. He is nowadays buried at the war cemetery in Sebesh. His last entered rank in the pass is Oberleutnant but the information below indicates that he was posthumously pronoted to Hauptmann.
