Brick layer born 1920 in Strassberg Schwaben. He served: Dec.40 with Pionier-Ersatz-Bataillon 157 in Ingolstadt; Dec.40-Dec.41 with Pionier-Ersatz-Bataillon 27 in Ingolstadt; Dec.41 marching to the front with Marsch-Bataillon VII/14; Dec.41-Mar.42 with Pionier-Bataillon 268, the pioneer unit of the 268.Infanterie-Division active under the 4.Armee in Middle Russia (Tula, Juchnow). He was a pioneer assault boat driver, Sturmbootführer, as his license is entered on page 21. He was KIA on 29.3.42 in Kassnaja-Gorka. Probably still buried in his field grave as he was not moved to a war cemetry after WW2.
