Born 1894 in Friedland-Königsberg. During WW1 he served: Oct.1914-Mar.1917 with Ersatz-Bataillon/Infanterie-Regiment 41 1914-1915 active at the Eastern Front; Mar.1917-Feb.1918 with Train-Ersatz-Abteilung 1.
