Ostermann served in ww1 from 23.11.14 till 16.12.18. 1918 he was discharged when he served with Ersatz-Gebirgs-Maschinengewehr-Abt.Nr.1, a replacements mountain troops MG-unit based in Goslar (Eastern-Germany). After ww1 he was a bricklayer. He was not called-up for service during ww2.
