He served 1942-43 with Grenadier-Regiment 770 of the 377.Infanterie-Division, formed March 42 in France (Le Mans). June 42 the unit was transferred to Russia (Woronesch, Saumy, Kursk), destroyed there Feb.43 and disbanded. From the remnant one regiment was formed and attached to the 340.Infanterie-Division, also active in Russia (Shitomir, Winniza, Brody) till it was destroyed and disbanded Aug.44.
