Born 1915 in Datteln. RAD service 1935-36 with RAD Abteilung 1/183. He served: 1936-1938 with Artillerie-Regiment 32 in Deutsche Krone; Oct.38 discharged and Oct.39 called-up again; 1942-1944 serving with Artillerie-Regiment 186 of the 86.Infanterie-Division, since 1943 when the 86.ID was disbanded under the Korps-Abteilung E, active in Middle Russia (Wjasma, Rshew, Orel, Gomel, Pripjet) and 1944 Poland (Warsaw).
