He served 1944 with Fliegerhorst-Kompanie Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur A (o) 28/III, the Luftwaffe airfield at Werneuchen (Brandenburg). This airfield was 1937-1945 in use by the German Luftwaffe and was also used as testing facility for secret communication techniques. After WW2 the airfield was used by the Red Army and nowadays the disbanded and overgrown airfield still exists.
