Austrian citizen born and living in Leipzig. He served Aug.-Oct.41 with 3./Artillerie-Ers.Abt.156, an artillery replacements unit based in Dresden. Oct.41-Aug.42 he served with the Truck depot of Army District IV based in Leipzig (Austria), Heimat-Kraftfahr-Park Leipzich. He was discharged from the Army on 15.8.42. On 15.10.44 he was called-up again. He served Oct.44 with Fliegerhorst-Kompanie Oschatz, the Luftwaffe airfield in Oschatz. Nov.44 till Apr.45 he served with IV/Nachtjagdgeschwader 2, a night fighter squadron home based at the airfield at Castrup operating under the 2.Jagddivision. At last he served Apr.-May 45 with Luftwaffe-Kommando Nordost, Luftwaffe upper command of North Eastern Germany.
