He served: Oct.38-Oct.39 with 7./Artillerie-Regiment 14 based in Naumburg and 1939 active in Poland; Oct.39-Jan.40 officer schooling at Waffenschule der Artillerie: Feb.40-Jan.41 with Artillerie-Regiment 262 of the 262.Infanterie-Division active in France (Maginot line and occupation force), later based in Poland; Jan.-Oct.41 with schwere Artillerie-Abteilung 848 active in Croatia (Agram, Sarajewo) and Russia (Rshew). He was KIA on 15.10.41 in Rshew.
