He served: Jun.-Jul.39 with Kraftfahr-Abteilung 7 in Munich; Aug.39-Sep.40 with Transport-Regiment 602, 1939 active in Sudetenland, Yugoslavia and Poland, 1940 active in Belgium and France (Somme, Flandern, Oise-Aisne channel, Marne, Seine, Loire, occupation force France and Belgium); ill Oct.40 and for recovery with Kraftfahr-Ersatz-Abteilung 7 in Munich; Apr,41-Apr.42 with motorized field hospital (Armee-)Feldlazarett mot 667, formed for the Africa Corps but at that moment based in Italy; Dec.41 three weeks in hospital in Napels Italy for gonorrhea; Mar.42 in hospital in Napels for a jaw inflammation where he was also examined for tropical service but found unsuitable; when his unit went to Africa he was sent to Germany and served till Jan.43 with Sanitäts-Ersatz-Abteilung 3 in Guben; Jan.-Mar.42 in hospital for his tonsils and angina; May-Dec.42 with Sanitätsabteilung München; till Apr.43 with Sanitäts-Ersatz-Abteilung 7 in Miesbach; Jul.43-May 44 in several hospitals for tonsilitis; till Dec.44 with Sanitäts-Ersatz-und-Ausbildungs-Abteilung 7 in München; not suitable anymore for military service and discharged on 2.2.45.
