Agricultural worker born 1920 in Masburg Koblenz. Trained with K98 rifle, MG34 and Panzerbüchse 40 anti tank grenade launcher. He served: Oct.40 with Infanterie-Ersatz-Regiment 246 in Trier; Oct.40-Jan.41 with Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 404 also in Trier; Jan.41-Aug.43 with Infanterie-Regiment 313 of the 337.Infanterie-Division, till Jul.42 occupation force in France (Demarcation line and Bretagne), from Oct.42 onwards active in Middle Russia (Rshew, Jelnja, Smolensk, Orscha). He was KIA on 27.8.43 south of Rydki and was buried at the cemetery in Nagibino. Probably still buried in his field grave since he was not moved to a war cemetery after WW2.
