He served: Aug.39-Nov.42 with Bäckerei-Kompanie(mot)592, a motorized field backery unit, based at the Westwall, Jun.40 active in France (Maginot line), till Jan.41 occupation force France, 1941 under the 11th Army active/based in Rumania and later active in Southern Russia. Nov.42-Feb.43 he served with Kraftfahr-Ausbildungs-Abteilung 9 based in Hersfeld where was also examined if he could serve in the tropics (unsuitable for tropical service); Feb.-Sep.43 he served with Kraftwagen-Transport-Kompanie zbV 950, a special duty truck transport unit active in Southern Russia; Sep.43-Jul.44 with Kraftwagen-Transport-Abteilung 989 also active in Southern Russia and 1944 active under OB West (?); Jul.-Sep.44 with special duty truck transport unit Kraftfahr-Kompanie zbV 101; Sep.-Dec.44 with Tactische Kompanie 1059 (?); from Dec.44 onwards with Versuchs(?)-Regiment 1059. Units need some more research.
