Entitled to: WW1 Iron Cross 2nd Class (23.5.1915), WW1 Iron Cross 1st Class (11.5.1917), WW1 Wound Badge (23.6.1918) in Black and Hindenburg Cross for WW1 combatants.

Born 1896 in Wrestedt-Lüneburg. He served: Aug.1914-Mar.1918 with Feldartillerie-Regiment 19, Feldartillerie-Regiment 52 and Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment 237. He was two times wounded: May 1915 shot through his left leg and Mar.1918 hit by shrapnel in his belly, During WW2 he served: Nov.39-Aug.40 with Auslandsbrief-Prüfstelle, a censorship unit for censoring foreign letters; Aug.41-Feb.42 with Wehrmacht Sch.Stelle (Schriftstelle?) Germain near Paris in France; Feb.42 with Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 16 in Münster and discharged on 24.2.42.
