3) Iron Cross 2nd Class, 16.10.43. Signed by the CO of the 211.Infanterie-Division, Generalmajor Johann-Heinrich Eckhardt (Kn.Cr. 20.5.42, Oak.L. 3.11.44).
4) Wound Badge in Black, 30.8.44.

He served as a horse-cart driver with Veterinär-Kompanie 211 and later with Grenadier-Regiment 365, both units of the 211.Infanterie-Division. Till Jan.42 based in France (Brittany) after which the unit was transferred to Russia (Brjansk, Dorogobusch, Witensk, Kowel).
