He served: Oct.1906-Oct.1907 with Niederrheinischen Füsilier-Regiment No.39 in Düsseldorf; 1909 two months military training in the military hospital in Düsseldorf as administrator of a reserve or field hospital; called-up during the mobilization in 1914 and first served Aug.-Oct.1914 t the military hospital in Darmen as a substitute hospital inspector (?); Dec.1914-Jan.1919 he served as a “Lazarett-Inspektor-Stellvertreter” with Landwehr-Feldlazarett 6, a military field hospital Dec.1914-Apr.1917 active in France (Aisne, Champagne), May 1917-Nov.1918 active in the Upper Elsass.
