Born 1910 in Wuppertal. From 1930 onwards basic Navy training, NCO and signals training with several units and on board of several ships: 1931-34 1098 days as signaller on board of the cruiser “Königsberg” ; 1934-35 as signaller 351 days on board of the artillery school ship “Drache”; 1936 125 days on board of the school ship “Fuchs”; 1936 again 128 days on board of the “Drache”; 1937 4 days on the Räumboot R18. After being promoted to NCO he served: Jan.38-Jun.39 with Wehrersatz-Inspektion Potsdam; Feb.40-Mar.43 with Wehrersatz-Inspektion Prag in Prague Hungary; during the last period 10 days on board of the mine sweeper M1704 of the 17.Minensuch-Flottille home based in Norway; Mar.-Apr.43 as reserve with 5.A.f.R.; Apr.-Sep.43 as reserve with 1.S.E.K. in Waren-Müritz; Sep.-Oct.43 with Sonderkommando 4011(?) and Marine-Nachrichten-Kompanie 107(?); Oct.43-Feb.44 with Marine-Nachrichten-Offizier Tirana in Albania; Feb.-Mar.44 Marine-Nachrichten-Offizier Split in Croatia; Apr.44-Jan.45 with Marine-Nachrichten-Offizier Mostar and Marine-Nachrichten-Offizier Cilli (Celje) in Yugoslavia, Slovenia; Jan.45 transferred to M.E.K. Süd in Italy; Feb.-Mar.45 with MOK Süd, Stab/Marine-Oberkommando Süd in Levico Northern Italy.
