WW1 service: 1916-1918 with Infanterie-Regiment 20 active at the Westfront (Mosel, Aisne, Champagne, Argonnen, Verdun, Aisne); wounded, shot through his left thumb on 4.4.1918 and hospitalized; 1918 serving with Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment 17 at the Westfront (Oise, Marne, Aisne, Champagne, Soissons, Reims); 24.7.18 hospitalized again and till 1919 for recovery attached to 3.Infanterie-Regiment. WW2 service: Aug.39-Jan.40 with Landesschützen-Kompanie 71/VII in Kaufbeuren. Discharged 1940 because he was needed elswhere „UK-Stellung“ (probably because he was a farmer).
