He was Feb.45 and Mar.45 again some days in field hospitals because of malaria of which Mar.45 four days in the medical station of (fieldpost number 58560) XVI.Festungs-Infanterie-Bataillon 999, a penalty unit at that moment also active in Croatia. Walther PPK pistol entered in the Soldbuch. An entry on page 4 of the Soldbuch from the commander of Artillerie-Regiment 654 (Oberst) indicates that he was recommended by him to be promoted to Hauptmann.
