He served: Nov.41 with Rekruten-Ausbildungs-Kommando 406.Division in Münster; Nov.-Dec.41 with Landesschützen-Ersatz-Bataillon 6 in Lüdenscheid; discharged Dec.41 and called-up again Nov.44; Nov.44 at Flakkaserne Lippstadt; Nov.44-Jan.45 with schwere Flak-Abteilung 233(o), a heavy stationary Flak unit based in Braunschweig under the 8.Flak-Brigade (page 32: 25 combat days including 5 days under enemy attack); from Jan.45 onwards with leichte Flak-Abteilung 838 active at the German Westwall and the Duisburg area (Westfront) under the 4.Flak-Division, 1945 also active in ground combat and surrendered 18.4.45 in the Ruhr pocket.
