He served: Feb.-Jun.41 with Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 90 in Hamburg; Jun.-Aug.41 with Infanterie-Regiment 503 of the 290.Infanterie-Division active in Northern Russia (Sebesh, Ilmensee); during this period 26.6.41 in Russia treatment of an abscess but stayed at the front; Aug.41 repatriated and till Sep.41 with Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 16 in Oldenburg; Sep.-Nov.41 with Infanterie-Regiment 154 of the 58.Infanterie-Division active in Northern Russia (Leningrad). He was KIA on 16.11.41 at Leningrad. He is nowadays buried at the war cemetery in Sologubowka.
