Agricultural helper born 1912 in Wiarder. He served: May-Jun.40 with Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 154 in Oldenburg; Jun.-Aug.40 marching to the front with Marsch-Bataillon z.b.V. Oldenburg; Aug.40-Jul.41 with Infanterie-Regiment 502 of the 290.Infanterie-Division, first based in France securing the Atlantic Coast, later based in Eastern Prussia preparing for the campaign in Russia; he became ill and was till Sep.41 for recovery with Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 377 in Verden; Sep.41-Mar.42 with Infanterie-Regiment 252 of the 110.Infanterie-Division active in Middle Russia (Smolensk, Wjasma, Klein, Rshew, Olenin-Bjeloje area). He was KIA on 14.3.42 in Mostowaja and was buried somewhere along the railway line from Rshew to Welikije-Luki. Most probably still buried in his field grave as he was not moved to a war cemetery.
