Chemistry student born 1914 in Jena. 1934 RAD service for students with RAD abteilung 6/234; 1934-1936 student chemistry at the university in Jena; Oct.36-Oct.38 with Nachrichten-Abteilung 37 based in Weimar; 1938-1941 student chemistry at the university in Jena; Aug.39-Nov.40 with Panzer-Nachrichten-Abteilung 37, communications unit of the 1.Panzer-Division active in the battles in Poland (Warschau, Weichsel etc.), 1940 active during the battles in France (Maas, Oise, Somme, Flandern, Artois, Dunkirk etc.); 1942-1943 student chemistry at the university in Frankfurt (when not in front service attached to Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 9 in Hofgeismar) and finished his study 1943; during this time Apr.-Jun.42 with Feste Nachrichten-Aufklärungs-Stelle 10, army communications station in Krasnodar Russia; Apr.-Dec.43 again with his former unit Panzer-Nachrichten-Abteilung 37 of the 1.Panzer-Divission, now as commander of a communications crew in an armoured command vehicle, till Jun.43 based in Rennes France, Jun.-Oct..43 Balkan, Peleponnes, Argos, Korinth, Oct.-Dec.43 in Russia (Kirowograd, Fastow, Radomysl, Mali, Shitomir, Korosten, Berdischew, Kasatin). Jan.44 he became a member of the secret army V2 rocket programm: Jan.44 with Artillerie-Abteilung(mot) 485, the army V2 rocket launch unit; Feb.-Nov.44 with Artillerie-Ausbildungs-Abteilung 271, the training unit for the army V2 rocket programm; during this period Jun.-Jul.44 course B6 (Lehrgang B6) at the Kommandostelle S which was the cover name of the sectret V2 rocket personnel school in Köslin (Koszalin Poland); Nov.44 with Artillerie-Ersatz-Abteilung 271, the replacements unit for the army V2 rocket crew and discharged from military service Nov.44. He was discharged because he was needed elsewhere „UK-Stellung“ and was living since Dec.44 in Bad Homburg near Frankfurt. Why he was dischared from military service is not clear but since he was part of the V2 „inner circle“ he was probably needed somewhere else to keep working for the rocket programm (as a chemistry specialist at the university of Frankfurt?). Further researche advised.
