Worker without education born 1910 in Prague living in Lüneburg. He served: Feb.-May 40 with Infanterie-Geschütz-Ersatz-Kompanie 22 in Oldenburg; May-Jun.40 marching to the front with Marsch-Bataillon Oldenburg; Jun.-Sep.40 with the infantry cannon platoon of Infanterie-Regiment 489 of the 269.Infanterie-Division active in France (Reims, Lyon, Dyon, Cote d‘Or) and occupation force in Denmark; Sep.40-Feb.42 with the infantry cannon platoon of Infanterie-Regiment 432 of the 131.Infanterie-Division, first occupation force Poland (Warsaw) and from Jun.41 onwards active in Middle Russia (Brest-Litowsk, Bialystok, Gomel, Kiew, Brjansk, Tula, Juchnow); wounded on 30.1.42 when he was shot by infantry in his left upper leg and hospitalized in Kassel; till Mar.43 for recovery with Infanterie-Geschütz-Ersatz-Kompanie 31; Mar.-Apr.42 marching to the front in Southern Russia with Marsch-Bataillon 24/3 of the 24.Infanterie-Division; May 42-Sep.44 with the infantry cannon platoon of Infanterie-Regiment 31 of the 24.Infanterie-Division till Aug.42 active in Southern Russia (Krim) and Aug.42-Sep.2 active in Northern Russia (Leningrad). He was KIA on 22.9.42 by shrapnel in his lung south of Mischkino (part of Leningrad). Probably still buried in his field grave since he was not moved to a war cemetery after WW2.
He was trained with K98 rifle, light infantry cannon model 18, heavy infantry cannon model 33. Used in his unit as a cannon grenade loader „Ladeschütze“.
