Military trained as “Bergführer”, mountain guide. Carpenter born 1898 in Schörfling Vöcklabruck Austria. During WW1 he served with Steirische Feldjägerbataillon Nr. 9 active during battles in Italy. 1938 two months military training. In WW2 he served with several hospitals: Aug.39-Jun.40 Reservelazarett B in Linz Austria; Jun.-Sep.40 with Reservelazarett Vöcklabruck in Austria; Sep.-Nov.40 with Sanitäts-Ersatz-Abteilung 17 in Vienna Austria. He was dischared “UK-Gestellt”, needed elsewhere, on 12.11.40.
