2) War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords, 1.9.44. Signed by the „Kommandierende General und Befehlshaber der deutschen Lufftwaffe in Griechenland“, the Luftwaffe commander in Greece, General der Flieger Johannes Fink. Used condition with some damage at the rims, probably kept it in his Soldbuch.

He served: Jun.-Jul.41 with (Fliegerhorst meaning military airfield) Fliegerhorst-Kompanie Köln; Jul.41-Mar.42 Fliegerhorst-Kompanie Düsseldorf; Mar.-Oct.42 with Fliegerhorst-Kompanie E31/IV based in Saloniki-Sedes Greece; Oct.42-Jan.43 with Fliegerhorst-Kompanie A201/IV based in Saloniki-Sedes Greece; Feb.43-Apr.44 with Fliegerhorst-Kompanie A209/III based in Saloniki-Sedes Greece; May 44 till the end of the war with the fire fighting squadron of Fliegerhorst-Kompanie H(o)108/XVII in Saloniki-Sedes Greece (unit was disbanded Dec.44).
